How I got my Name
The beginning of my Website title is "Long Live" incase you didn't notice. The title comes from a song by Taylor Swift off her latest album, "Speak Now". The song talks about her Senior Year of High School and her looking back on all of the memories she made with her friends. And certain lines of the songs remind me of how I'll feel once I graduate and move on from my friends of 13 years. Such as " Long Live the walls we crashed through, I had the time of my life, With You." The song has recently brought me to the realization that, Wow, It's almost over. 10 more months and I'm done. Seeing my friends everyday, walking to class with them, eating lunch with them, needing a pass when I'm late for class, the friday night football games, Homecoming Week. It's all over after this year. So, for the remainder of my high school days, I'm going to soak in every last sleepover, fight, lunch, and study session and cherish them. And maybe one day in the distant future, We will be remembered.
The Goodlife
OneRepublic's newest single "Goodlife" is one of my top 10 favorite songs of the summer :) It gives me a sense of accomplishment and awareness of how blessed I am. While in Greece, we learned numerous things that weren't the "norm" over there. Air Conditioning was very rare in homes. Only the really wealthy had it, or large public places. In America, A/C is just a neccessity, in Greece it's a "Niceity". Teenagers also can't get jobs until they are 18 in Greece along with getting their drivers license. We can get jobs at 15 and a license by 16! Im starting to understand why many countries don't like America. Aside from the finances and economical differences, We are truly Spoiled. We have over a million fast food restaurants and everything is on demand. You see it, You want it, You get it. We have grown accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle and forget what is really important in life. God, Family, Friends, Being outside, Loving on People and Reaching out to others. Living by those standards, you could really live the Goodlife. :)
New Year, New MindsetToday was the first official day of Senior Year. I surprisingly don't feel any different from last year. I don't think it has quite hit me yet that I'm a Senior, but I'm sure it will once we need to meet all of the deadlines, events and receive our Senior Sweatshirts :) I'm so excited to see what this Year has in store for all of the students at my school! I would love to see a change in the hearts of the students. To be more life giving, thoughtful, and not have the world revolve around them. That would be my ideal Public High School.

Labor of Love
At my school, the Seniors are allowed to paint their parking spots. Go wild! As long as it's school appropriate ;) lol. I have a new obssession with the color teal/aqua, so I chose that color for the background. At the top there is a Christian Fish, a Cross, a Heart and a music note. Along with my name, I included two Bible verses. Psalms 37:4- "Delight Yourself in the Lord and he will bring you the Desires of Your heart." and Mark 16:15- "Go into the world and spread the good news to all creation." Both verses reflect me and my desire for loving people and spreading the word through simple outreaches, and missions. My thought process of making these permanently on the pavement were that maybe, a few years from now (if no one has painted over it) that a student will read the verses on my spot. And become curious about this God of mine, and they would start reading the Bible. Its strange I know, but little things can be as inspiring as the big things. As long as another person finds their way to the kingdom of God, I've done my job.
A Week to RememberThe first week of October wasour school's homecoming week. It was a bitter-sweet week that flew by way too fast! Each day of the week had a theme. Such as, Color Day, Cradle to the Grave Day, Fake an Injury Day, Blast from the Past day, and Spirit Day. The football game that friday night started off great! The game was close. And then, halftime happened. As soon as the buzzer went off for halftime, it started to pour! Everyone made a run for the bleachers. The band didnt play, and homecoming wasn't announced. But the dance that followed was great! Im sad that homecoming week is over, but there is always the week of Prom to look forward to. :)

Time to Give Thanks
This Thanksgiving, I had the pleasure of spending time with my boyfriend and his family. They are pretty much, the coolest people on the planet. There is never a dull moment with them! Every single member of their family is so welcoming and accepting of you are. Spending time with family is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. And who could forget the Pumpkin pie? ;) We spent time with the older cousins chatting and talking about music and movies, enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by Ashton's Mimi and a few other cousins, then hung out on the dock in the back yard of Ashton's grandmother's house, A.K.A Mimi. To the picture on the left, the cute little girl lurking out of Ashton's armpit, is his cousin Lauren. Her and her sister Lexi are two awesome and amazing girls. I have been becoming closer and closer to them as Ashton and I have been dating. They are always so uplifting and encouraging. I am so Thankful to have those two girls and the rest of Ashton's family in my life.
