Everyday is a winding road

Senior Year had many exciting factors. Seniors always have certain privileges that are earned as a token of their 13 years of hard work. At my school, we had to opportunity to pick a parking spot only used by us, and we got to decorate them in any way that we desired. (As long as it was appropriate of course) With my lack of creativity and artistic skills, as you can see, I did images of my favorite things at the top, my name, and two of my favorite bible verses that I felt would best fit this last year of high school. I came into the school year with a positive outlook and the mindset of this last year as a year long missions trip. Even though at home, I felt that it was my last opportunity to reach out into the community and really make a change in the class and the high school. I knew that Jesus was going to make some impact this year. And he did, December 25, 2011 at around 9pm, two of our classmates were in a terrible car accident. They were on a Wal-Mart run for their mom, and were struck by another car causing them to roll several times. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts. Brett Wagner was immediately ejected from the car window and died upon arrival at the hospital. Josh Rogers was also ejected from the truck. He arrived at the hospital in critical condition. On December 27, Josh had made his journey to meet Brett and the Lord. Such a terrible and tramatic accident had a huge impact on our graduating class. We were brought so much closer together and celebrated their lives as a giant team. As I had predicted, God did make an impact. Although the circumstances weren't ideal, we now raise awareness of the importance of wearing your seatbelt.
Dancing the night awayThe final homecoming dance was definitely bittersweet. It all flew by so quickly, I felt as if it was only a dream. Ashton and I were definitely looking our best, and enjoyed every moment of that special night. I bought my dress from Windsor in the Brandon Mall. When I first saw it, it definitely wasn't something that I would ever picture myself wearing. But, I tried it because it was different and thought I would switch it up on my final year. And i ended up loving it! Hi-Low dresses were just starting to trend, so I was somewhat ahead of the curve ;). Ashton looked adorable in his outfit. He's always handsome. Now my hair, I didn't love. I gave the stylist a picture of Taylor Swift at the CMA's in 2011. Apparently the stylist and I weren't on the same page. Ashton loved the hair, but I felt like a fifties house wife, or Shirley Temple. But aside from the wardrobes, we had an amazing night with friends and lots of dancing.
